CS:GO majors then and now – 16 months and one million viewers later

av Tobias Lundgren

This past weekend Fnatic became the first CS:GO team to win two major tournaments, and they did it in front of a record-breaking audience of over 1 million concurrent viewers online and 10 000 spectators in the Spodek Arena.
To put that into perspective, above is a picture taken by Aftonbladet Esport during the first major finals between NiP and Fnatic, in front of 1100 live spectators and a peak of 145 000 viewers online, according to HLTV.org.
The most notable thing though, the timeframe between the pictures is only around 16 months.
