Esports coming to Norwegian national tv: ”Seen its success in Sweden”

Norwegian TV 2 are set to create a new esports league in cooperation with House of Nerds.
The league will host Starcraft 2, CS:GO and League of Legends.
– We’ve seen it’s huge success in Sweden and we want to build the heart of Norwegian esports, Mikael Harstad Groven, project manager at TV 2 sports says.
House of Nerds operate in a 1000 square metre building in Olso. There, they want to create a hotspot for technology and game enthusiasts in Norway. In cooperation with TV2 sports they will soon also be hosting esport-leagues.
Project manager at TV 2 sports, Mikael Harstad Groven, has a solid background in the gaming world, having worked as a journalists for various sites. Now he’s working to bring esports to Norwegian TV.
– I’ve seen the potential in esports for many years and seen it’s huge success in Sweden. I figured esports would be a good addition to us at TV 2 sports. I’m looking forward to bring esports to the Norwegian audience, he says.
”Are our natural partners”
The league will host three titles. Starcraft 2, CS:GO and League of Legends. TV 2 will focus on the editorial and technical aspects of the production while House of Nerds will do the game related parts.
– House of Nerds have a long background in the gaming world and we consider them our natural partners. Together with House of Nerds we want to build the heart of Norwegian esports, Mikael says.
