In recent days, a lot of questions have been rolling in regarding DreamHack, VACbans and the Virtus.pro Staff Cup. Our very own HeatoN has found the time to sit down and answer some of these questions, in spite of the busy schedule he has with the upcoming tournament at DreamHack in Jönköping.
First off, how do you feel with DreamHack Winter coming up? Are you confident?
One is never confident enough when it comes to these things, but I have been watching the guys practicing and I know that they will definately have a good shot regardless of the fact that they haven’t been playing together for very long. My estimation is that we are going to be top 3 at DHW and my hope is of course that we will win. Winning something like this in our home country is the best feeling in the world. It all depends on how well the guys play together as a new team, it does take some time to find that certain symbiosis with each other, but I keep my fingers crossed for them and will be cheering them on like always.
How did you feel when you first heard of the cheating and the VACbans?
To tell you the truth I was immensly disappointed. Something like this will affect not only the CS:GO scene negatively, but all of the teams as well. Some players will be affected through not being able to participate in spite of the fact that they did not do anything themselves, and other teams will be affected when thinking about past tournaments and what the outcome would have been had these players not cheated. It is a down wards spiral, and we need to fix this and move past it. It is every players responsibility to see to it that these things do not happen, and report them when they do.
Fans are anticipating to see your name on the Virtus.pro staff cup, but you have not made an apperance yet. How come?
The fact of the matter is simply that I’ve had too much things to do these past days, and my schedule has been very hectic. For instance I had my family over today, which has been the first time in months, so I needed to spend some time focusing on them. I would love to play under the NiP-banner once again and hope to get a chance next time, on the other hand I can say that I am very proud of the guys that have been participating! I am happy to have such an amazing staff, not only organization wise but also when it comes to gaming. We get competitive within NiP and played CS:GO during our last kick-off, which got really intense. I do appologize for not being able to attend the staff-cup yet, but on the other hand, I think the guys did a pretty awesome job without me.
