”To be honest, I hate watching movies”

av Johan Ridell
Mouse interview

I recently got the chance to sit down with our very own Mouse for a quick interview and ask her perspective on a great deal of things. Here is the result of this interview!

Could you quickly tell us who you are and what you do?
I’m 20 years old, I live in Stockholm, Sweden with my parents and sister. Right now I go to school to study some extra classes.

What sparked your interest in competitive gaming and Esport in general?
I started with CS 1.6 in November 2009, so I was really late. A year later or so, I discovered that there are actually tournaments with really good prizes both offline and online. I wasn’t that good back then, but I knew right at that moment, when I discovered e-sport, that I want to become good enough to compete in CS.

What is your role in the team?
I’m the in-game leader and entry-fragger.

There’s a lot of prejudice against competitive female gaming, is that something that you’ve experienced personally?
Countless times actually. Usually when you’re a girl playing a game, regardless what game, you just automatically become a “weaker” player. Female gaming is growing a lot right now, so I wouldn’t be so judging since there are many talented girls out there. That’s why it’s so fun to kick their asses in-game when they tell you that you probably suck!

What could be done to counteract this negative behavior in your own opinion?
First of all, all of the girls need to gather up and fight those prejudices together, regardless of everyone’s skill level of the game their playing. We need to keep each other close because we are all pretty much in the same situation. Besides that, I think all people just have to stop judge us just by knowing that I’m a girl in-game, because it says nothing about my skill nor my personality. That’s why I love proving them wrong!

On to a little lighter question, what other games do you like to play?
I love World of Warcraft and I used to play a lot of League of Legends. Those are the two games I play mostly after CS:GO, besides that I can play everything pretty much!

What do you do besides playing CS:GO?
I spend time with friends and family and sometimes stream.
Five quick questions:
Favorite food?
Pancakes
Favorite movie?
To be honest, I hate watching movies. So it’s hard to remember the best one, but I guess that will be “Year One” because my humor is special.
Favorite book/book series?
I don’t read books either unfortunately, but I’ve red a Swedish book called “Snabba Cash” and I really liked it!
Favorite beverage?
Fanta, or Fanta Lemon to be more exact.
Favorite artist/band?
Parkway Drive.
