NiP Gaming AB and Ekelund, Linneväveriet i Horred AB initiates unique cooperation!
– A most exciting and evolving project says Kim Ekelund, 12th generation of the Ekelund textile family.
For traditional textile manufacturing to meet and partner with the ever growing scene of E-sports is a possibility for us to develop our products for an entirely new market. It is a welcome challenge to create products with patterns and colors to attract a gamer.
NIP:s CEO Per Lilliefelth, suggests that cooperating with Ekelund lies beyond the norm regarding product ranges that E-sports businesses usually work with. To work with a traditional and reputable Swedish textile manufacturer is an evolvement for us, and therefore a possibility to influence the trends of import trade. The use of locally manufactured products lets us work in an environmentally friendly manner and at the same time contribute to the Swedish labor market and its growth.
– During my visits to Ekelund I have witnessed the artisans and the entire process of weaving the yarn and turning it into a finished product. It is cool to see that this kind of knowledge still exists in Sweden.
Ekelund has, since its foundation in 1692, worked with a wide variety of textile products, today the Ekelund focus lies on interior decor and gift items. Ninjas in Pyjamas is evolving and its products will no longer only be placed by the computer but also in the gamers everyday environment.
NIP is launching a specially designed plaid available in two colors, made with the Ekelund soft and rugged cotton quality. The plaid is woven at Ekelunds in the village of Horred using ecologically grown cotton.
